The Best Natural Lip Balm Ingredients

Your lips may be a small part of your body, but what an important role they play in the overall health of your skin. Dry, cracked lips are not only unsightly and uncomfortable, they are also far more prone to infection. Here at the Sudsy Soapery Natural Products we strive to use only the best natural lip balm ingredients. Here is a breakdown of the natural ingredients in our lip balm and the function of each.

Dry Lips

Vitamin E: We list this ingredient first, not just because it is the most active ingredient, but because it is also the most prevalent ingredient. Most natural lip balms include a small percentage of vitamin e for its healing properties. Our lip balm is one third vitamin e. Vitamin e moisturizes and protects the lips while promoting healing of cracked lips.

Beeswax: Beeswax is the hardest of the natural waxes. We chose beeswax because of the longevity it gives to the lip balm. Most testers reported our lip balm did not need to be reapplied for a minimum of four hours. Other, softer brands of lip balm need to be reapplied every two hours.

Butters: We use a triple butter blend, cocoa, shea, and kokum for maximum moisture absorption. The butters tend to rub on smooth and absorb well.

Lanolin: We use lanolin in moderation to increase the waterproof, protective barrier of the lip balm.

Flavors: All of our lip balms include stevia suspended in coconut oil for a sweetener. They also include an essential oil or natural flavor so you can enjoy your lip balm without the fear of man-made chemicals.
